Computing

We teach Computing at Flixton Primary School to help pupils to understand, access and participate fully and safely in the digital world. The Computing curriculum at FPS allows all children to have the opportunity to learn computer science so that they can develop their understanding of how computers work and how computers can be harnessed for the benefit of society.

We believe every child should learn some computer science because they live in a world in which computation and computers are omnipresent. Building on this knowledge and understanding, children are equipped to use computers and technology to create programs, systems and a range of content. Computing also ensures that pupils become digitally literate – able to use, and express themselves and develop their ideas through, information and communication technology – at a level suitable for them to become active participants in the digital world in which they live.
