Welcome to 2M! 

Welcome to Summer Term! We have lots of exciting things ahead of us! 

Our school rules link to our school motto 'success comes through personal effort,' and these also help the children to become more intuitive, resilient and kind individuals. 

Any bits of useful information or documents to support learning at home will be uploaded onto our page, as well as various gallery items.Be sure to keep checking every now and again for updates! 

Reading little and often at this age is incredibly important, and we really do appreciate everything you do at home to support your child with this. 

2M routines:

• Reading books changed: Friday/ Monday
• Library books changed: Every other Friday
• Reading racetrack books in: Friday
• PE day: Thursday/Friday

Infant Department Uniform                                                                               

- Navy blue school jumper/cardigan (with logo)

- Grey trousers, shorts, skirt or pinafore

- Blue summer dress

- White polo shirt

- Grey or navy blue plain socks or tights

-Black school shoes (not boots or trainers)

PE Kit:

- Plain white top

- Navy blue shorts

- Black pumps

An optional outdoor PE kit can be used (navy/dark coloured joggers and jumper with trainers) in addition to the basic kit of pumps, shorts and top.

Handwriting:

We have been working hard to make sure we can form all of the lower case and upper case cursive letters correctly. The children should be writing using cursive all of the time now. This will help when they move into Year 3 and start to learn how to join and work towards getting their pen licence. Have a look below to see how we form these: 

Spelling:

We have also been working hard to make sure we know how to spell all of the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 TRICKY WORDS. These words are TRICKY because they can't be sounded out (most of them anyway!), so we need to just learn them off by heart. The image below is what we use at our tables in the classroom to help us with these TRICKY WORDS.

We have learned how to write a good BASIC sentence. We have also learned about nouns, verbs and adjectives within sentences:
